Here are a few tips to make your time at the airport a little more of a relaxing and pleasant experience.
The Transportation Security Administration constantly updates its policies to make your travel safe. For a comprehensive list of travel tips, please visit the TSA web site.
PACKING YOUR LUGGAGE
-
Airlines allow one carry-on bag and one personal item per passenger, which may be a briefcase, purse, laptop, or items of similar size.
-
Usually, airlines allow two checked bags per passenger. They must weigh less than 50 lbs. and the height + width + length of each bag cannot exceed 62" total. Baggage allowances may vary by carrier or class; check with your carrier before you pack.
-
Keep valuables, undeveloped film and medicine in your carry-on luggage.
-
Avoid packing prohibited items. See TSA’s list of prohibited items.
-
Place identification tags on and inside of all baggage.
-
Whether packed or carried on, leave gifts unwrapped; TSA may open them for inspection.
ARRIVE EARLY
-
Sunday mid-day, Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings are the busiest times at Mobile Regional Airport: more traffic, longer lines at ticket counters & security check points. Plan accordingly.
-
Airlines ask passengers to be at the airport 90 minutes before a domestic flight and two hours before an international flight.
BRING PROPER DOCUMENTS
-
Airlines require a government issued photo ID.
-
Bring your Boarding Pass or get one at the ticket counter.
-
It's a good idea to have your reservation confirmation number if you are using an E-ticket.
