Since the 1930s, we have proudly served the air transportation needs of the people of the Gulf Coast. Today, we continue to upgrade our facility and offer all a range of air travel’s most modern amenities. As an independent, self-funded entity we do it all without local tax dollars.

The Art Program at Mobile Regional Airport

The mission of the Art Program at Mobile Regional Airport is to enrich the experience of passengers, tenants, and employees visiting or working at Mobile Regional Airport, to showcase our community’s local artists, and to inspire burgeoning artists to hone their craft.

Late last year, the Mobile Airport Authority started the Art Program at Mobile Regional Airport in order to showcase the community’s abundant talent. The Program will feature the work of various local artists throughout the airport terminal building. Through this program, Mobile Regional hopes to share the local creative talent with people visiting the area and to inspire other artists.

To begin this wonderful Art Program, the work of Eugenia Foster will be on display throughout the Mobile Regional Airport for one year. The collection includes nearly 20 palette knife, oil and giclee paintings that will be on display throughout 2012.

Art Program works by the featured local artist will be displayed on the first floor near the Customer Service Center and on the second floor concourse and terminal gate areas.

Eugenia Foster

Eugenia Foster lives in Mobile, Ala., and has been painting since childhood. Her work is very free with bold marks and a strong palette. Foster is inspired by her life experiences, her many travels, the beautiful forms and colors in nature and the beauty of human form. She does not paint from photographs but paints from memory which allows her work to portray a suggestion of the region or culture without the limits of photographic rendition.

Foster is a graduate of Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala., and has won many awards in regional and national exhibits. Her work can be seen in galleries across the Southeast.
